I was always told by my Grandfather, that Rachel was a McGuire, but I haven't been able to find a trace of her.
This Harvey Collins was in the 39th Mounted Kentucky Infantry and was listed as killed in action on July 2, 1863 , at the mouth of Coal Run Pike County Ky.
I have a pension request sign by Rachel Collins 1865 and a marriage of James Harvey Collins to a Rachel Mcguin Oct. 1851. And My John R. Collins was born abt. 1843 according to the Floyd County Death record he died 5/13/1926 and was 83 years old. My father told me he was plowing the garden and his plow hit a rock, kicked back, ruptured his stomach. In the 1910 census he called his wife "Duze." His son was Elijah Collins my Grand father, married Virgie Gibson, July 4, 1911. I have been stuck at James for a long time, hope we can connect information. Dan
