Patricia: The only McLoughlins of whom I have direct knowledge (i.e. my grandfather and older) came from Moneen and Dowra, County Cavan in Ireland. That whole area was populated by nothing but McLoughlins and McGoverns up to recent times. Other McLoughlins emmigrated in the mid-to-late 1700's to Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Canada.A son born there, John McLoughlin, became the Father of Oregon, U.S.A. and was responsible for the settlement of most of British Columbia, Washington State and Oregon.(He was the one who doled out the land to settlers arriving at the end of the Oregon Trail). There is now a McLoughlin Historic District in Oregon City.i'll let you know if I hear of a Felix....Steve McLoughlin
