I can't believe it!Finally, someone who might know of Mahaly.Mahaly McMath is my GGG Grandmother. Her daughter, Rebecca, was my GG Grandmother. Then Mollie Seaman was my G Grandmother, with her son Arthur Claude Ellis as my Grandfather.Who were the parents of the Brown children?Mahaly had three daughters with John McMath. One was Nancy, one Mary (married a Parker), and my Rebecca (married John Seaman).Did Nancy marry a Brown?
Mahaly's maiden name is my current brick wall. She married John McMath in her mid-30s, so he may have been a second husband. To further complicate matters, he may have been close to age 60 when he married Mahaly and then fathered three daughters. His marriage to Mahaly could have been his second or third marriage. The marriage books before 1842 were "lost".An expert told me last week to look for tax records that would mention everyone in the family.
The 1830 census shows children for John who are older than his three daughters with Mahaly.Any chance the Brown children could be from one of those earlier children?
I have quite a bit of information beginning with John McMath directly to me (through daughter Rebecca).Let me know where to go from here.I don't know his parents.
