Ok, Connie,
I checked with Mom this morning, and Joseph J. McNabb was a Postmaster here in Cleveland (probably the father of Blanche). Blanche also worked for the Post Office for many years. Mom has a copy of her obit. If I seee him, I'll ask a neighbor about this, as well, since he is a retired postmaster for Cleveland.
She is going to dig out the info she has for me, but it will be a couple of days. It's all in her hand written notes. We've never been completely sure how she fit in with the rest of the McNabb's we know in this area.
One thing you may want to look at. If this line is the one we think it is, you really need to looking in McMinn County more, rather than Bradley County. The John McNabb, that fought in the Civil War is one of twin brothers (both of which fought in the war), who lived in McMinn County, Tennessee. The Living History Museum, of McMinn County has a portrait of them.
There are several groups of McNabbs, one which settled in Bradley County, of which I descend, and another group who lived in McMinn County. Another group (of which one was a postmaster as well) who lived in the Big Springs/Agency Creek area of Meigs County. And one more who lived in the part of Tennessee, now in Hamilton County )Ooltewash and Collegedale areas north to Hixson)which was part of a Franklin County around the turn of the century.
I'll get the rest of our data to you as soon as I can.
Arnold
