We found Grandma!
I came across some information in our family records recently about an Elizabeth A. McNabney who died in Hodgeman Co., Kansas in 1887. A little further work and I found she was the wife of James McNabney (her maiden name was McNabb) and the mother of Robert, John, William, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Anna, Margaret and Matthew. I am guessing that she came to Kansas with her son William from Perry Co., Illinois. I checked some cemetery records locally and found she was buried in Fairmont Cemetery at Jetmore, Kansas. The grave is well marked with a stone with her name and dates. She has been there 115 years and none of the local family knew about it. Most of her family moved on west in the early 1900's. My mother and her sisters were the only family left in the area and they weren't born until 30 years after her death.
