Where did get the name of Matthew McNair Smylie as the son of Neil and Sarah?I was at the Miss Archives in Jackson last month.The deed index for Copiah Co.MS (on microfilm) shows that Neil Sr. gave property to three of his children on Oct 8,1825.I only copied the deed for Neil Smylie Sr to Neil Jr.I did copy the deed index (Grantor and Grantee)for these 3 deeds. Thethree children are shown as Neil Jr., Sarah T., and Martin M or Nathan M.
The McNairs were in Bladen Co. NC and Cumberland Co. NC before Richmond Co.NC.
