Yes, up until the 1950's my husbands father paid taxes on some property we think in Clare County. It was such a nuisance that the Ameican McNamara's decided to deed over the property to other McNamara's still willing to hold their share for the property(Castle???). My husband has his gr-gr-gr-grandfathers walking stick{can't spell the name but sounds like shalalee). Also we knew that the name was originally spelled mac instead of mc. Thanks for responding.
