Looking for Goldie/McGoldrick connections to McNamar's in Detroit, Michigan

I am looking for information on Patrick McGoldrick aka: Patrick Goldie, born in Donegal, Ireland....migrated to Dumbarton Scotland with parents and siblings...then he left and went to the U.S.A. believed to have settled in or near Detroit Michigan and had some type of connection to the McNamara's and either he or one of his decendants wasinvolved with the Detroit Fire Department.
This information is sketchy at best but was just recalled by a 80plus relative who is decended from the same family, and this Patrick was brother to his grandpa John Goldie/McGoldrick.. I would like to find this for him as a surprise, if any one can help...I have ALOT of information on this family of Goldie aka McGoldricks...and would share it with any relation....
When the Irish moved to Scotland they changed their names as the Scotch looked down on them... so they dropped the Mc's and O's from their names... I do not know if Patrick changed his name or not... Thanks so much , please email [email protected]
