Re: McNamee Connections Magahera/Magaherafelt Co Derry

My family members came from Draperstown, Derry which is not too far from Magahera.

My Grandfather Peter McNamee was one of 11 children, came to the US via the British army (he deserted the first week he was transferred to Canada)and settled in New York City.

Three other of his siblings came to the US and settled in MA and CT. One of his brothers James McNamee became a police office in Bristol CT and was unfortunately the first officer in the city to be killed in the line of duty. He is honored on their website.

Three other siblings imigrated to Sydney,Austrailia and settled there. One their names was Padraig (sp?). That's all we know.
