The Marriage Records of Scioto County, Ohio 1803-1860 by Caryn R. Fuller Shoemaker and Betty J. Sisler Rudity, Published in Baltimore by The Genealogical Publishing Company, Inc., 1987, shows four McNamer marriages:
"McNamar, Nicholas and Anna Williamson 1 Dec 1824 R, A-86. McNamer, Joseph and Mary M. Smith 7 Nov 1854 MA, R, D-12. McNamer, Samuel and Barbery Humphreys.John Lute attestedages. 15 June 1850 MA, R, B-181. McNamer, William and Martha Snorgrass [should be Snodgrass] His father, John McNamer, consented. Witness: Samuel Humphreys. 12 December 1839 MA, R, A-277."
"Marriage affidavits are referenced MA; orignal returns, R; and volume and page are given thus: A-283, B-151 etc."
My interest is Martha Snodgrass who married William McNamer. He died prior to 1860, as she appears on a census in Newton County, Missouri with her brother, Samuel, and his family.Martha remarried on 1 July 1869 to Issac Null, in the residence of her brother John Snodgrass, Sr. in Decatur County, Iowa.
Hope this is helpful to those researching the McNamers.
