Finally got back to GenForum and found your February response to my McPadden/Flynn query. Thanks so much for your help with Griffiths!!
I'd like to share the infomation I have and see if any of this is familiar to you...
I am searching for information on my great grandparents, Katherine McP/FADDEN and Martin KELLY. We believe Katherine McP/FADDEN was born around 1850 to John McP/FADDEN and Mary FLYNN, and she died in Ireland in the 1920's.
1. John McP/FADDEN, b. Ireland, abt 1825-1835 +Mary FLYNN, b. Ireland abt 1825-1835 2.Katherine McP/FADDEN, b. Ire, abt 1850 +Frank/Martin KELLY, b. Ireland 3. Mary (Mamie)KELLY,b 4 Apr 1886 3. Katherine KELLY 3. Bea/Delia KELLY 3. Frank KELLY 3. Anne KELLY 3. Uknwn KELLY 2.Mary McP/FADDEN, b. Ireland, abt 1854 +John J. Flynn, b. Ireland, abt 1866 3.Catherine FLYNN 3.Mary FLYNN
As far as we know, Katherine McP/FADDEN-KELLY stayed in Ireland, but her sister Mary McP/FADDEN, emigrated to NY in the early 1870's.She married a John J. FLYNN, not sure if in Ireland or here in NYC (and not sure if any relation to her mother Mary FLYNN/McP/FADDEN's side of the family).
My grandmother Mary KELLY emigrated in the early 1900's, to NYC, NY with two sisters Katherine and Delia (Bea, Beatrice, Bedelia?). Their brother Frank emigrated in the 1920's after their mother, Katherine McP/FADDEN-KELLY died in Ireland.Don't know what happened to other siblings, Anne and Unknown.
When Mary (Mamie)KELLY emigrated to NY, she lived with Mr. and Mrs. John J. FLYNN,(Katherine McP/FADDEN's sister Mary McP/FADDEN & her husband) in Brooklyn.
Mary KELLY was buried in the FLYNN grave in St. John's cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, NY. Deed purchased by John J FLYNN August 5, 1915. Family interments:John J. FLYNN, 7/22/39(4?), age 73;Catherine FLYNN,10/26/15,age 29;John FLYNN, S/B, 4/25/16;Delia KELLY, 4/22/20, age 32 (Mary's sister, my grandaunt); Mary FLYNN, 10/24/27, age 72;Mary KELLY SHEPPARD, 10/9/45, age 59;Francis KELLY, 1/28/50, age 57;Katherine KELLY McELROY, 8/12/?5, age 64;Albert SHEPPARD, 2/15/64, age 74.
Does any of this ring any bells? Or did I confuse you as much as myself???:^)
