John A. MacPherson (c.1836-after 1912)--CA & NY--Gold mine expert

Hello,

I am seeking information on John A. MacPherson (c.1836-after 1912) who was president of the Rappahannock Gold Mining Company, a corporation organized under the laws of New York. He worked first with the California gold mines, then moved to New York.There he became active with the New York Mining Exchange.During the late 19th century, he owned and operated the Rappahannock Gold Mine in Stafford County, Virginia. There was also a John J. MacPherson who owned a good deal of stock in the company.
