his wife's name was Mary McPherson (ms Cummings) they married in 1873.
from this marriage they had a big family 7 kids were born first was

Catherine McPherson born about 1877 in England im led to assume in gates head area of England.
Mary Ann McPherson born about 1870.
James McPherson born about 1881.
Alexander McPherson born about 1884 and died in 1951 in inveresk he was also a baker and he married Ann Dillon in Dundee in 1905.
john McPherson born about 1886 in England .
Joseph McPherson born about 1887 .
Winifred McPherson born about 1894 in Dundee.
