Hello Kevin,
We are third cousins. You come from a fine McQueary family begun by Frank Wolford McQueary & Emiliza Burton.Their son, Mark (my ggrandfather's brother), married Malinda Kimbler as you stated. They had nine children:
Alva Lou
Cordie
Estel
Grace
Pearl
William
Emma
Alvin
Arthur
The McQuearys frequently married into the Burtons.I actually have more Burtons on my McQueary side than on the Burton side!I have no more current information on Cordie than that. This information came courtesy of "cousin" Jason Harmon through Ancestry.com.
Frank Wolford McQueary's pedigree goes as follows:
Frank Wolford McQueary
William Jasper McQueary
Andrew Zanby McQueary
John McQueary, Jr.
John McQueary, Sr.
John McQuarrie (from Scotland)
The Burton family goes back to mid-17th century settlers on the James River:
Mark McQueary
Emiliza Burton
Peter T. Burton
Arthur Burton
William Burton
James P. Burton
James Burton
"Old" John Burton
Thomas "of Cobbs" Burton
Richard Burton
possibly Francis Burton
Whew!I hope this is not overload. My Burton side kicks in at William Burton, as well.Let me know if you have any questions. These are pretty well-established lines.
