Howard, thanks for the information. I did not have the Hawbeard will information. Following up on that, I noticed that the 1830 Ohio Census for Licking County, Fallsbury Twp.(Series M19, Roll 134,Page 362) shows Minor McQuinn with seven male children of various ages, and four female children, the oldest of which I believe are the Hawbeard daughters, because Minor and Sarah had only two daughters by that time, Phoebe 7 and Sarah 5. But, there is only one female age 5 to 10, while there are two females age 15 to 20 and one 20 to 30, that don't fit into the known McQueen children. It makes sense that Minor and Sarah had custody of the Hawbeard daughters, and it may have been part of the agreement with Minor. There is no indication of relationship, if any, in the 1830 census. My guess is that there was a kinship of some kind, or that Thomas Hawbeard was a member of the Baptist faith, long a tradition in the McQueen family, and that Minor had impressed Thomas as a reliable and trustworthy religious man, worthy of taking care of his (Thomas') daughters after he died. It would be enlightening to trace these three daughters to see if they married in Licking County in the 1830's, and where they may have located afterwards. Any marriage record would have been in Licking County, since that was where the girls were living at marriage age, unless they went off on their own after emancipation age. Keep us posted if you find anything.
