I read your post with great interest, it follows.
"I've found a 1773 tax list of Ayr township, new Bedford Co,Pa that includes the Great Cove, and more. From Va Land suits,we know in 1773, Jousha McQueen, John Sappington, and Wm West were sharing a cabin at,what today,is Weirton,WV, or extreme frontier, and George Brown and others rode to their rescue."
I do believe I know these men, Joshua McQueen, son of Dugall, married Margaret Baxter. She the d/o JOhn Baxter II and Elizabeth Sappington. They were from Baltimore, MD. Elizabeth Sappington was the d/o JOhn Sappington and Margaret Baxter b 1730. Don't know her parents. It seems they all ended up in MAdison County, KY.
George Brown b ca 1750 at Pipe Creek Hundred, Baltimore, MD. married Elizabeth McQueen. George Brown/s daughter, Elizabeth, married Joshua McQueen.
Now here is my quest, it involves William West and who he was and married to. I am almost positive based on this relationship to name him father of Richard. What do you think??
I am the fourth great grandson of a Richard West b ca 1755 in MD and married to Margaret Sapp. They were married ca 1783 in Madison County, KY. I am trying to prove that Richard West may be the son of the William West listed above.
Richard West lived next to Bethuel Baxter b 1755.Bethuel married Mary Sappington in 1776 at Baltimore, MD. Bethuel son of JOhn Baxter and MAry Brown. This Mary was the daughter of George Brown, b 1690-1700 in England and MAry Stevenson, grandparents of George Brown above

Thank you for this information and can you tell me your source for the above paragraph? There may be more re William West.
