I'm not familiar with the McQueens of Skye as my lot had got as far as South Perthshire (parishes of Callander, Kilmadock, Port of Menteith, Kilmadock and Kincardine by Doune by the 1700s.They could have come from Skye originally but I haven't got back that far.

Wherever your McQueens are, IGNORE spelling and listen to the sound!Mac = Mc =M' throughout Scotland and Ireland.Spelling varied within a family, within a parish register and within a document until about 1900, so don't put any reliance upon spelling.

The McQueens also used an unrecognisable Gaelic spelling (which I can't remember off-hand but will look up) for their name and I think it began something like MacShub....
