Meador/Meadows - WV-Cherokee ancestry?
Seeking information on James "Flem" and Benjamin F. Meador (Meadows)--may have been brothers-"Flem" was married to Louisa Elizabeth Wills (Pack); he died ca 1900 of gangrene, Louisa remarried (unknown); Louisa was previously married to Michael Pack, had a daughter Mary Pack (m. unknown Lilly) who raised my husband's father after Louisa remarried--Louisa also had a son Sylvanus Wills, and Flem and Louisa had daughter Anna and sons Millard and William Robert ("Bob")(Meador or Meadows).
Benjamin F. was married to Minerva (unknown). They had sons James, Charles and Frank (I think), daughters Cleo, Mattie, Willie and Cora "Mae"."Mae" was a first cousin to "Bob", and they were my husband's parents.Mae was previously married to Grover T. McBride (d. 1920's in mining accident) and Alf Snyder.Married Bob after 1935.Bob was previously married to a Virgie Shrewsbury.Bob and Mae had children William Robert Jr. and Johnny Bill Meadows (my husband).

All were born in West Virginia around Hinton, Beckley, Pipestem, Bluefield, etc.--John was always told that both his parents were descended from a full-blood Cherokee--but we are uncertain of the name, but presumably the mother or grandmother of James Flem and Benjamin F. (assuming they were brothers, since their children were first cousins with the same surname, but this family has so many inter-relationships that I know better than to make assumptions!)
