Re: JONAS MEADOR DESCENDANTS--Beware!!!
And only a few hours after my previous posting on this subject (#1400), I'm even more confused -- if that's possible.
In Victor Paul Meador's book he accounts for John Meador, Jr. (son of John Meador, m. Elizabeth White).John Jr. is supposed to have married Sarah Gregary (p. 59, which marriage might be debatable) and to have died on 14 Mar 1720, leaving a noncupative (verbal) will which is provided on p. 56.In this will he names as his only heir his daughter, Susannah Meador.
So how can there be yet another John, Jr., who was son of John Meador m. Elizabeth White?
It seems that the only way one can hypothesize that the John Meador who left a full will (p. 57) written 17 Oct 1721 and probated 21 Nov 1721 (naming son Jonas among others) is to postulate either 1) that this John was the son of someone else and not the son of John who married 1st Elizabeth White, or 2) that the John who left the noncupative will (above) was the son of someone else.
