Thomas Meador Sr. in Virginia

By Joseph Meador August 12, 2004 at 08:14:27

Thomas Meador Sr. was born in the Netherlands in 1612 and died June 6th, 1655. His son Thomas Jr. was born in Essex County(?), Virginia 1638(?) and was an orphan when granted land in Caroline County(?), Virginia by Governor Sir William Berkeley approximately 1663(?) (will verify dates).

The Meador name comes from the Coat Of Arms which says " Mea Dos Virtus" in Latin which means "My Dowry is Virtue".
This was shortened to Meador.
