Meador Family VA/KY,,,Thomas Meador

I have just started delving into my Meador line.I was provided the below information by a cousin who is a genealogist.He was concentrating on our family name lines and sketched out the maternal lines.I was wondering if anybody could help me fill in the blanks and some of the information, especially in regards to the earlier Meadors.I have tried on line, but haven't found much and don't have subscriptions to the most popular genealogy website (pretty expensive on a service man's pay)

I'll start with the first person in my Meador line and work backwards.

The first Meador is Polly (Mary) Meador.Birth date UNK, but she died 24 Dec 1854 in Breckinridge County, KY.She married a David Smith.

Polly's father was Thomas Meador, born about 1759 in Essex County, VA and died 1823 in Breckinridge County, KY. He married a Alcey (spelling?) Dowell on 9 Jan 1783, I believe in Breckinridge County, KY.My cousing mentioned that this Thomas was a Revolutionary War Veteran, however I have been able to find no record or mention of that anywhere so far.

Thomas was the son of Ambrose Meador, born about 1730 in Essex County, VA and died around 1795 in Bedford County, VA.He married a Francis Hicks (Hix)who also died in 1795.This is something curious here with both of them dying the same year.Also curious to see if Ambrose may have served in the Revolutionary War since he would have been old enough or perhaps in the pre-Revolutionary Virginia Colonial Militia.

Ambrose was the son of Thomas Meador, born about 1680 in Essex County, VA. and died sometime after 1758.He had a will dated 31 July 1758.Thomas married a Elizabeth Wood who died prior to 1758.

Thomas was the son of John Meador, born about 1658 in Essex County, VA and died sometime late 1721 or after 1721. He had a will dated 17 Oct 1721.He married an Elizabeth White on 10 Dec 1694 in Essex County, VA.

John was the son of Thomas Meador, born about 1635 in Virginia and died about 1661 in Virginia.He married a woman named Sarah about 1658.

Thomas was the son of Thomas Meador, born about 1612 in Bristol, England, which would be in Glouchestershire (spelling?).died June 1655 and had a will either dated or probated 12 June 1655.

That is all I have really been able to find.I have seen references that Thomas' (1612)father was a Daniel Meador and his mother was Elizabeth Lee.I have also seen his father as Ambrose Meador.This info is mainly off of the FamilySearch.org web site,,but the LDS records are a good guideline, but not really reliable.There are too many records there for Thomas Meador with conflicting information.

Any help would be appreciated.
