Re: Thomas Meador/Meadows family of VA

Thomas Meador Sr.Came from England to Jamestown after 1622 before 1636
and whenhis headright was claimed by one John Gator
Thomas moved 15 miles north of Jamestown on headwaters of Juskins Creek west of Rappahnnock.

Upon his death, he had an estate of several hundred acres and the estate was appraised at
17,502.(Money was brought to america in those day.It was figure in the a pound of
tobacco was valued at so, and that was their money.)His Wife is unknown.He had one son
named Thomas Jr. born between 1638 and 1641 and when his father died, Thomas Jr. was between
fourteen and seventeen years of age and chose as guardian, one William Underwood.His
mother had apparently and I have yet found record of her.

Thomas Meador Jr.According to William Sanders, Lillies on the Bluestone:

One son named Thomas Jr., was born between 1638 and 1641 when his father died
thomas Jr, was between fourteen and seventeen years of age and chose as guardian, one William Underwood.

Thomas Meador Jr of Lancaster County apparently prospered and in 1663 paid the passage of seven person claiming headright of a total of 350 acres.

He had two children:

Dorothy who married Richard Awbrey.

John born about 1658 to 1660.His records in Essex Countywhere he first married Elizabeth White, daughter of Richard White

John Meador
Will was probated on Oct 1721 and probated the same year in Essex Co, Virginia

According to William Sanders, Lillies on the Bluestone:
John born about 1658 to 1660.His records in Essex County were he first married Elizabeth White in 1671.

Children to them were:
Thomas
Rachel
Elizabeth
Richard
John, Jr.
Hope
Esther

Elizabeth White died about 1694.
He remarried again-wife unknown.

Children from second marriage:
Mary
Jonas
Job
Jason
Joshua

I come off at Jonas.

Jason married Elizabeth Stone in 1730/31.

on Microfilm throught the FHC at your local Mormon Church (LDS)

I wouldn't be surprised if his other two book weren't also on microfilm.He is
no longer on sail.Another one of his books is Victor Paul Meador's
"Our Meador Families Colonial America (privately printed in 1983)

Jonas was born 1698 and died 1768 in Cumberland Co, Virginia and married Frances Hudgen/Anderson.
