I had a great aunt Lilian Menzies (nee Handford) who was notified in August 1915 of the death of her brother Robert Handford at Gallipoli. She was also sent notification of the death of a James Meegan. Nobody of that name ever served with the Australian forces in WW1, so I'd wondered if he was in the British army? What link there was between the two of them is a mystery, and of course I'm not sure we're talking about the same person. Its a big mystery to me. Was your James Meegan in the armed forces at the time of his death?
