Re: From England john
Yes, I have that entry about the ship Captain stealing her pine tree....:-)
The Register of St. Stephen's Parish lists four(the grave stone says five) children for William Keene,Jr and his wife Elizabeth Rogers:
1.William Keene born 11 Sept 1665; married first Ann Therriatt; married second Elizabeth Newton.
2. Elizabeth Keene born 16 May 1669; married Samuel Samford
3. John Keene born 12 August 1671; married first Elizabeth Oliver; married second Ruth____.
4.Hannah Keene born 4 Feb 1676; married Capt. John Bushrod. This family's descendants was very prominent in politics.
5. Daughter, name unknown.
The above Keene family made many records in Virginia.
No, I think this family was pure English and married back to pure English. You know they (prominent Virginians)felt like they had to "keep up the bars" and keep all the wealth inthe various families. That is why their legal heirs intermarried with cousins, over and over. Most of the marriages (by the elite) were arranged marriages.... to tilt the wealth and influence? They did keep up the bars...as they say in Virginia.
