A recent trip to an endodontist resulted in a question of whenter I had native american ancestry.Apparently I have a "c-shaped" root canal that does not occur in caucasions but rather in chinese and in those native americans that migrated across the Bering Strait.
Our family mythology includes a few lines about american indian ancestors, but my research back through 1800 has not revealed documentation of that. And, my haplogroup is R1b1 -- no mystery there, you can look at me an tell that my ice-age ancesters were chasing mastodons around the edges of the ice sheets.
The migration pattern for my Darters/Tarters in my family background goes through Virginia to North Carolina/East Tennessee to Kentucky, which seems similar to what I see for some Melungeons. So I am wondering if there might be a connection.
