Elizabeth McCauley Susong (b. Roanoke 1766 VA-Died in Greene County TN)
I'm very curious about my ancestory Elizabeth McCauley, who was consort to Nicholas Susong and eventually married him.I cannot find her dad Alexander McCauley. There is an Anne Fairchild who married an Alexander McCauley, but that Alex died before Elizabeth's birth. They did own 11 slaves.Could Elizabeth have been black?
I'm a descendnant of Elizabeth and Nicholas, who gave birth to Jacob Susong, who married a Margaret and had another Elizabeth. That Elizabeth Susong married a Denny (in Bell County Kentucky) and they had Serelda Denny who is my great great grandma. Serelda lived in Bell County and was rumored to be a "Cherokee" but I'm findng no proof of that.
Please help!Susong pix would be great or any info on Elizabeth
