I just re-read the will of Valentine Mendel and his wife's name in the willis Mary (not Anna Marie Gallentine - unless she was an earlier wife)
I will post a copy of the will here -
Valentine Mendel died in Brooke County, West Virginia (then Virginia, of course), between April 1806 when he made his will and January 1812 when it was proved. The will is recorded in Vol. 2, p.25, and is quoted from a copy made by the county clerk.
In the Name of God Amen.
I, Valentine Mendle of Brooke County and State of Virginia, being unwell in body, both of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of this body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, as to what worldly goods it has pleased almighty God to bless me with in this life, I give and bequeath in the following manner that is to say Imprimis after my decease my funeral charges to be paid out of my estate at my decease.

ITEM.It is my will and desire that provided my son John Mendle ever should return he may come in for an equal share with the rest of my sons above mentioned to him and his heirs forever.
ITEM.It is my will and desire that if any of my children go to law and dispute with each other concerning the property left to them by this my will in that case they get none of it and their share returns to the rest of my children.
ITEM:I bequeath unto each of my daughters, Mary Mendle, Elizabeth Mendle, Rachel Mendle, all my personal property, at my decease, except one bed and furniture for my wife, to be equally divided between them, to them, their heirs and assigns forever.
ITEM.For their performance of this my will I appoint my wife, Mary Mendle and my sons Valentine Mendle, Henry Mendle, Peter Mendle, George and Jacob Mendle, my Executors to this my last will and testament, revoking all wills by me heretofore made.
