Michael, I have been searching for a Merritt connection to Bennett and Lasiter in eastern Tennessee, possibly in the Sequatchie Valley, (1800's) with no success.The name Merritt apears in both families as a middle name with frequency.The Bennett's moved from Virginia to the Carolinas to Tennessee over time.I would appreciate any direction you may be able to give.
