HI Kath, Here is the information I have. I got this information from helpful people on the Yorkshire, England web site and from the IGI.I will work from as far back as I have gotten.
William Bistroe married Ann Harper on 11/21/1752 in Stillingfleet, England. They had Thomas Bistroe who was christened on 8/3/1770. Thomas married Mary Atkinson on 4/7/1797 in Eastrington, East Riding, Yorkshire, England. They had Ann Bistroe who was christened on 9/30/1798 in Howden, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.
Robert Midgley-b-1775, who I could not find who his spouse was had Richard Midgley who was christened on 7/4/1792 in Eastrington, East Riding, Yorkshire, England. Richard married married Ann bistroe on 11/25/1817 in Eastrington, East Riding, Yorkshire, England. They had Robert Midgley who was christened on 3/24/1820 in Eastrington, East Riding, Yorkshire, England. Robert married Ann Thompson-born in Bubwith, England. (They are both buried in Morley Cemetery in NY state. Their children: 1. George-b-7/4/1847, christened on 7/25/1847 2. Elizabeth-b-1849-christened on 8/9/1849 3. MaryAnn-christened on 10/21/1851 at Barmby on the Marsh, England 4. JOHN-christened on 12/4/1853 at Barmby on the Marsh, England 5. Frank-b-1856 in the USA 6. Frederick-b-1859 in the USA(twin) 7. Emma-b-1859 in the USA(twin) 8. Ann-b-1861 in the USA 9. Henry-b-1864 in the USA
Almost the entire family are buried in the Morley Cemetery. According to George's obituary, the family came to the USA in 1854. Interesting to note is that Elizabeth and MaryAnn did not join them. It is my belief that they must have died before leaving England. According to an 1851 census, Elizabeth was one year old. It must have been before her second birthday. There are web sites for Barmby and Eastrington and I have also found that the communities are in very close proximity of one another. I hope that this iformation is of some help and not too confusing! Let me know if this is of any help at all.
