Looking for descendants of Thomas Millett - Brookfield, Mass. 1674
I am looking for living descendants of Thomas Millett. He was a preacher inGloucester in 1655. Originally from Dorchester. He was married to Mary. and he suceeded John Younglove as the minister of this young settlement. They were considered a "Planter family" of Brookfield, MA. He moved to the new settlement of Brookfield..Mass. in abt. 1674.
In August of 1675- a famous Indian Ambush occured at New Braintree -- called "Wheelers Surprise" this led to the 'Siege at Brookfield' by the Nipmuck Indians.
A re-inactment of this historical event is being planned for in 2010 ...by the West Brookfield Historical Commission. To get further information about being a part of this event - either post a reply on this message board or contact me at [email protected] -
Thanks. C.E. "Chuck" Prichard
