Hi Folks!
Further to my last posting, I am seeking the exact relationship between Alice Milsom (daughter of Charles Milsom,of Bath,Somerset, who married Samuel Wilde of Walcot,Bath,Somerset on 26 April 1755) and her believed Aunt, Mary Teast, sister of the Bristol shipbuilder Sydenham Teast,of Whapping wharf,Bedminster,Bristol.
A relation (I believe) of the Teast's has e-mailed me
to say that "We understand that Mary Teast born 1704 married someone called Millsom. Her parents both died in 1706 and John Sampson of Henbury (1677-1732) was her guardian. Her brother Sydenham (1700-1773) married Mary Sampson in 1749."
Our family tree book has Samuel Wilde,of Walcot,Bath, married to Alice Milsom 26 April 1755,as the daughter of Charles Milsom of Bath, niece of Sydenham Teast of Bristol who married Mary daughter of John Sampson Esq of Henbury,Bristol, sometime High Sherif of Gloucestershire.
Mary Teast has a tomb at the church at Henbury. She died 27 January 1797.Will of Samuel Teast 13 October 1772 and Proved 19 June 1773.
From our records Alice Milsom later married W.Morgan,of Bristol 13 October 1772 after the death of Samuel Wilde.
Can anyone tell me which of the Milsoms Mary Teast married and when?
Thanks!
