Karen, here is some information on the Minchin family originally from Clonmel Ireland which answers some of your queries:
Joseph Minchin (b.1842 – d.1908) married Kate Eliza Johnson (b.? – d.1925) - they had 8 children, 6 sons and 2 daughters. In no special order they were:
Robert Scott Minchin
William Scott Minchin
John Minchin
Francis Minchin
J. Ernest Minchin
Alfred Thomas Minchin
Rachel Scott Minchin
Ethel Josephine Minchin
Sgt. Robert Scott Minchin served with the RCAF in WW2 and married twice: he married Evelyn Drew and together they had 2 children, Robin and Betty. He later married Rose Brougham and had several more children, one of which I believe you Karen are descended from.
What I’m looking for is clarification on William Scott Minchin’s wife and children and where they lived in England. His wife’s first name was Bridie but I can’t find her maiden surname. William Scott Minchin and his wife Bridie had 7 children… 2 sons and 5 daughters:
William
Frank
Bridie
Agnes P
Pauline Pearl
Theresa
Mary
Would you or anyone else know which of the daughters married an Alfred Parker-Ashley?
If you would like specific details re dates and places etc I’d be pleased to help you find them.
