MISIAK/BANASZAK, Westmoreland Co., PA
I am seeking assistance in finding the Polish connection for my wife’s MISIAK/BANAZACK grandparents from Poland. Her Grandfather Stanislaw MISIAK (according to his naturalization papers)was born May 8, 1876 in Wils Andryow, Poland (I feel certain that the place names are anglicized). Her Grandmother Mary Anna Banaszak or Banasiewicz (appear to have traveled separately to this country with her family) was born March 10, 1882 in Galicia Sowka, Poland. This couple wed, August 16, 1905 in Mt Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., PA. They lived, worked, raised their family, and died in Mt Pleasant. Stanislaw’s father’s name appears as Matteus MISIAK, his mother as Anna. Mary’s parents were Frank and Nafstazi Banashwitz. Grandfather Stanislaw, who changed his name to Steve, recorded this information on his naturalization papers,” Departed Antwerp, Holland April 28, 1904Arriving at the Port of New York on the 8th day of May 1904. He was 28 years old. He Petitioned for Naturalization Jan 16, 1924 and received his Certification of Naturalization No. 1993676, May 9, 1924”. Any direct connection to this family or assistance from someone in Poland who could help geographically pinpoint the birth location of these folks will be greatly appreciate. Finding their birth location in modern day Poland may lead to a family or Church connection there.
