Dempsey Mitchell of SC. and his children

I was reading the estate papers of Dempsey Mitchell (online) who died in Barnwell Co. SC in 1850. The final settlement of the estate list his seven children and wife Judith.I had always believed that Nimmons Mitchell was a male.As I read the papers I found out that Nimmons is really Judy Nimmons Mitchell.This is in line with the 1850 Census which list a Judah Mitchell living with Judith 40. Dempsey died in 1850 according to the Mortality Schedule for 1850 census.

This could make us believe that Judith whom we had as last name unknown could be a NIMMONS.Time for more research.
