I don't know what to make of this, but here it is:
State of North Carolina Bastardy Bonds:
Bertie County, 1777 -
_________________________________________________.
MOTHER/BONDSMAN /BONDSMAN /
_________________________________________________.
Anne Gliston /Anne Gliston /Daniel Gliston /
_________________________________________________.
My uneducated guess is that both mother of child, and Bondsman #1, were named Anne, and that Bondsman #2, Daniel Gliston was father of "MOTHER"and husband of Bondsman #1, Anne Gliston. - ?
NOTE: In Records of Estates, Bertie Co., NC 1788-1800, by Gammon, Wm. B.,
Entry #160 is Inventory of Estate of ANN GLISTON Aug. 6, 1795, by Arthur Jernigan. Account of sale, Sept. 3, 1795 by the admr. One of the buyers was a John Gliston. I unfortunately lack most of the following page, (34) on which there are apparently 2 more Gliston Estates. It looks like entry # 161 and or #163 was in 1789, and an Ann Gliston was admrx. Daniel, and Burwell Gliston were 2 of the Buyers, and money was rec'd from John Gliston. The remainder ofthe (torn) page shows that Ann (X) Gliston signed the document, and Division of Property was on August 4, 1792, beteween Ann Gliston and Sarah____(missing).
