I can help you with the Mocks and the Hites.Hugh Mock was a son of George Mock (born about 1783 in Bedford County).I think he died in 1862.George, in turn, was a son of Peter Mock (ca. 1742-1817) who was the first of this Mock clan to settle in Bedford County (with the possible exception of Jacob Mock, who may have been a brother of his).Peter arrived in Bedford County about 1784.However, it is Esther Hite I am related to as she is a first cousin of my great-great-grandfather, Daniel Hite (1832-1882).Esther's parents were Samuel Hite (1810-1876) and Mary Brailler (1811-1876) who lived near Imler in Bedford County.Samuel, in turn, was the youngest child of Christopher Hite (ca. 1759-1827) and his wife Margaret (ca. 1767-1828) who also lived near Imler.Christopher was in the Continental Army during the American Revolution.I have published a book on this Hite family and Fred Ickes of Fishertown, Pennsylvania, has published a book on the Mocks.
