Dear Rebecca - We are researching the same families. The Fischers emigrated to St. Louis, (from Emden), lived there a few years, then moved to Peoria, where Heinrich died. Talletta Harbers Fischer married John Goodheart, who ran the store, and her son Jacob H. Fischer helped and eventually took over.Jacob Hayes Fischer married Lydia Dilzer and they had about ten children, born starting around the 1880's.A daughter Lydia married a man named Mohr.Have you seen the Mohr family store on Lincoln Ave. in Peoria, across from the Lincoln Library? It was rebuilt from the original building where the Fischers lived, and where the Goodheart-Fischer store was located, but is still very old and has the "Mohr Variety" name (and some other hard-to-read wording) printed on the east side of the building.
Lydia Fischer Mohr died in 1935.Your death date for JacobMohr doesn't figure, since they had all those children. This is confusing - there are two Lydias marrying two Jacobs!
Since you knowJacob Mohr's approximate birth year, there is a great possibility of locating the family in Germany - don't give up!
