There is a bit of a mix up. I am not related to Jacob Mohr. I was looking at a posting by Carol relating to Lydia Fisher who married Edward Mohr. Lydia's mother was a Dilzer and the string of messages went from there; Dilzers from Moos, Carol telling me she was directly descended from Mattias Haungs from Moos and then back to Dilzers again.
I have no luck finding online information about a possible Castle Illenau. There is a medical institution in Illenau (near Aachen) built in the 1840's and known as the Schloss (castle) Illenau (search Google images for "Schloss Illenau").
I have been to Moos many times. It was a small, poor village of farming people who lived in very modest houses. My great-grandfather Nikolaus Leppert and his brother Dionis left Moos in 1854. I have been working on a project to trace the emigrants from Moos. Many of them settled in the Peoria area including Josef Dilzer's widow Ottile and at least eight of their children.
