David - thanks for responding. The following story is what I have on Castle Illenau, and I did get a picture of it off the web and have much more information as my aunt did visit it when it was in the hands of the French government.

"Dr Joseph Von Dilzer is said to have built this castle in Achern in the Black Forest of Germany. This was a health spa and Dr. Dilzer was a famous doctor that healed the kings and emperors of Europe. The picture of the castle shows "Mummelsee - a lovely lake near the estate, directors' quarters, room for patients, "hergtbau, one entrance to illenau, the town of Achern surrounds the castle, many statues on the grounds, one of Emperor Friedrick William of Germany; many buildings connected with walks, a view of Illenau showing the vastness of the estate, buildings, trees and covered walkways between buildings, a ballroom with stage and piano, a house for women patients and another house for men patients and buildings of estate Beobachturgsbau.

Dr Dilzer and Mr. Stierbeck married two sisters:Fedalis Ehinger and Otillia Ehringer.Castle Illenau was built by Dr. Von Dilzer near Bull on the Rhein Mose, there is invormation in the archives in Washington DC.Dr. Von Dilzer's descendants were Romanan Gypsy, French, German, Italian and Jewish.Rights of Royalty were given up when naturalized in the U.S.Dr. Dilzer was a Duke.
It is said that more information can be obtained from Fabor Dilzer, owner of a pencil factory at Einwokiner AMT85 Nurenberg Germany, U.S. Zone.
Dr. Ehringer (Otellia's father) came from a royal family and was from Algair. He was a Frenchman. Dr. Von Dilzer was an only son and was born in Algair. He was thought to be a Grand Duke. The Castle Illenau at Achern near Buhl on the Rhein belonged to him (or his father-in-law).The castle was sold to the state and used for a health spa.Used in 1977 by the French Military (visited by Jacqueline Mohr Kirchgessner at this time). She tried to visit the castle but was not allowed past the front gate.Lydia M. Dilzer Fischer was one of the heirs of the estate. She received $108.27 as her share.
The castle sits on beautiful country in the famous Black Forest.

I also have a picture of the castle and would be more than happy to send it to you if you have an interest but I don't have your e-mail.
