Searching for Christian Mommsen & Descen
I am searching for information regarding CHRISTIAN MOMMSEN, born 1833 or 1834 in Schleswig, Germany. He emigrated to Barron County, Wisconsin in 1882.
Here's a rough list and approx. dates from my Tetenbull & Osterhever, Germany ancestors, ending with the CHRISTIAN MOMMSEN for whom I am searching. (Note:They used various spellings of Mommsen, but I'll stick with the modern day spelling):
Christian Mommsen (b. Abt. 1771) married (m. 27 Mar 1796) Anna Lorenz (b.16 Jul 1768)
Their children:
Anna Catherine Mommsen (b. 10 Jul 1797)

*Jacob Mommsen (b. 26 Feb, 1802)
Frauke Mommsen (b. 21 Feb 1805)
Christian Mommsen (b 22 Sep 1807)
Their son, *Jacob (b. 26 Feb, 1802) married (8 Sep 1833)Sophia Dorothea Jacobs (3 Feb 1816)
Jacob and Sophia had the following children:
*Christian Friedrich Mommsen (b. 29 Nov 1833)
Anna Cecelia Mommsen (b. 30 Mar 1836 and died before 1846)
Frauke Mommsen (b. 13 Feb 1838)
Martha Mommsen (b. 21 Oct 1840)
*Jacob Mommsen (b. 28 May 1843)
Twins, Sophia Dorothea and Anna Cecilia Mommsen (b. 18 Jul. 1846)
Leve Friedrich Mommsen ( b. 22 Feb 1850)
*Christian and Jacob emigrated to Wisconsin in 1883.
>Jacob married, had 5 children. All 5 children had large families.I descended from him.
>Christian disappeared from all records after buying land next to Jacob in Barron County Wisconsin in 1892.
Naturally, I am very curious about what happened to Christian.
Sincerely, Catherine L. Mommsen, Vancouver WA USA
