Hi Brian,I received your email and to answer your questions, No, I haven't found a copy of the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church.I did have another person who was checking out her Dunn side of her family contact me recently about another church whose minutes you can get to online.I will have to find my notes from that conversation and get the name of the church and email web site address and look that up and see what it gets me.I will let you know that information as soon as I get a chance to do it.We are going out of town for a couple of weeks but when we get back I will check into it.
Yes, I would love to have a copy of the picture.I might be able to help identifying them.....see if there is any resemblence to other Monk relatives. No, I don't have any pictures of anyone on the Monk side back that far.I dearly wish I did.I will also post this on your direct email address.I can share quite a bit of info on my Zachariah Marion Monk.
It has been so difficult to even identify that he was Silas and Nancy's oldest son.I had believed it ever since I started researching and only in the last year that I had been in contact with a lady by the name of Keitha, you may have seen other posts by her on this Monk Family Forum. She is also a descendant of Silas and Nancy.Another relative of hers, (and ours by the way) had the family Bible of Silas and Nancy and she sent me a list of the information that it had in there and that's how I finally knew for sure that Zachariah was their oldest son.
Now I am so determined that I want to go farther back and connect to those first ancestors. What information do you have on the family back in GA and SC and NC?Do you have any proof that this was their treak across the country? Also, do you know for sure where they came from in Europe? Some have told me England, some Scotland, some Germany so I really don't know.
Thanks for the contact and let's stay in touch. It helps when you know there are others out there looking just as hard as you are.
Thanks,
Carolyn Bostian
