Need help determining parents of John Samuel Monk,
born, 29 May 1822 in Georgia
married, 23 April 1844 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Louisa S. Carlisle
listed on 1850 census of Tallapoosa County, Alabama
listed on 1860 census of Coosa County, Alabama
died, 30 Nov 1864 in Franklin, Williamson Co, Tennessee

Some sources indicate Silas Monk, b. 1780 in North Carolina and died 1841-42 in Tallapoosa Co, Ala. as his father.Did Silas leave a will or Bible record lising names of his children?
The Silas on 1840 census of Tallapoosa County was age 20-29, so could not be the father of John Samuel Monk.

The 1840 census of Georgia, H. Monk in Harris County is the only one I have found with a son the right age (15-19) to be John Samuel Monk.
