Montalbano in Santa Magherita di Belice, Sicily
Antonino Montalbano 2/14/12
I have a greatuncle, Vincenco Montalbano b.abt.1863 d. 26 Mar. 1926 who Immigrated to the US on 28 Apr. 1897, his wife Giuseppina Convernal, b. abt 1863 d.?Immigrated to the US on 19 Jan. 1903. I know of only three children Calogero, Nicholas, and the third child name unknown to me who stayed in San Margherita. Calogero married Maria Catalano, sometime in 1906 in Brooklyn, NY. where they had nine children, Nicholas, as you said married Lillian Lamanno, about 1938, and they had two children.
I lived in the same tenement house in Brooklyn as Calogero and his wife Maria, whom I called both Uncle Chalie and Aunt Mary. Calogero and my father, Giuseppe Adamo were first cousin, makeing Calogero and me first cousin once removed.
I can trace the Montalbano family tree back to about 1772.
Hope the above is helpfull and if you want additional info don't hesitate to ask.
Stay well, Angelo
