NOTES BY ME
Males became taxable at age 16.John first appears on the tax list in 1739, indicating that he was born about 1723.This is confirmed by the Bristol Parish Register.Robert Jr first appears in 1743, indicating that he was born about 1727.The fact that no other Moody's appear on the tax list (1736-1750) would seem to indicate that Robert & Ann Moody did not have any other sons born 1720-1734 who reached age 16 during this period.

NOTES BY ME
1)in 1755, John Moody pays tax for himself and his brother Daniel.Has Robert Moody SR died or moved away??
2)Robert Moody Jr disappears from the tax lists after 1754.Several online sources say that he moved to South Carolina, has this been proven?
3)several online sources say that this Jesse Moody is the same Jesse who lived in Chatham Co NC by 1780, died in 1788 in Greenville Co SC.They state that he was John Moody's son. However, John Moody only paid tax for himself in 1757 & 1758.Jesse Moody first appears in 1759 (independently, NOT in John Moody's household).Doesn't this make Jesse too old to be John's son??
4)Several online sources state that Joel Moody listed above is John Moody's sonI disagree.John Moody did have a son named Joel, but he was much younger.John's son Joel was born in the mid to late 1750's, married Ann Beall in the mid 1770's, was listed in the 1790 Franklin Co NC census, moved to Georgia in the 1790's, was in Greene Co GA by 1804, where he died in 1829 or 1831.
In 1759, Robert Parker paid tax on Negro wench Sue.In 1761, Robert Parker's will
leaves 1/3 of all stock to Elizabeth Moody--at her death, it goes to Francis Parker Jr.In 1761, Elizabeth Moody paid tax for Joel Moody & negro wench Sue.In 1762, Joel Moody pays tax on himself & negroe wench Sue.Does this indicate that Joel Moody is Elizabeth Moody's son?Who was her husband??
This Joel Moody (b.pre.1744) is listed in the tax digests in the same district as Robert Allen; Joel married Robert Allen's daughter Sarah Allen.Joel was in Chatham Co NC by 1780, is listed in the 1790 Chatham Co NC census, listed in the 1800 Pendleton Co SC census, where he died after 1813.
