Need Documentation of Joseph MOODY b.c1710 that m. Elizabeth DECKER
I need Proof that Joseph Moody b.c1710 in/of Scarboro, ME that married Elizabeth Decker was a son of Daniel Moody and Mary Norton.
No where can I find such documentation, as a matter of fact most online sources do not list Joseph as their son, and those that do, have No Sources cited at all except other people's gedcom's or WFT.
One webpage that does have good sources cited has questioned this Joseph as a son of theirs as well and actually states that this entry must be considered an error as no proof has been found.
My recent research also brought me to this conclusion as well and so I am here now Hoping that someone will have Documentation of some kind.
I am now beginning to wonder if This Joseph might not be my James Moody father?!
I have spent the last 2 days browsing online genealogies with very good sources cited and the names popping up with the Scarboro - Elias Moody and Lettice Libby line are Overwhelmingly over-run with names and Solid links to my own family tree. How could I Not have seen or noticed this before now??
I have made mention before that I thought I might be linked to this line and that this line (Elias) might also be linked to the Lawrence MOODY line who had son Nathan of Lewiston, ME, but again I have no proof.
All I have are a TON of names from these genealogies that link to BOTH of my Parents who also happen to be 3rd cousins to each other.
These Scarboro names also link to my ydna Moody family in Nova Scotia...Phinney, Starrett etc.
The links to the LIBBY's and NEWCOMB's are endless.
PLEASE if anyone has Proof of the connection between Joseph MOODY and who his Parents are, I would be most greatful.
I am now wondering if due to the fact that there are/were SO Many Daniel Moody's in the same areas of MA/NH and ME all around the same time, if some of those might not have come over with the Scot-Irish immigrants and just been absorbed into the woodwork so to speak and that the early historians or genealogists just assumed these connections because of dates and same names etc.
I have a very large link to the HASTY family of Scarboro whose earliest ancestor was a Scot-Irish immigrant who came to Scarboro early on. There are also links to the Meserve family as well and we know they were here early.
Then there a ton of links to the FOGG's who also link to my Nana Moody's Coffin family etc.Its just an overwhelming linking of early Scot-Irish families and typically they all clung together like glue so this sent up the Red Flag for me.
Thank You for anything at all.
