Thomas Morgan, Charles Parish, York Co. VA, 1677
There are Morgans in Charles Parish, York Co. VA records. First mention is William, born Nov 17, 1677 to Thomas and Elizabeth Morgan. (Deducing that Thomas (father) would have been born in a range of 1630-1655)
Next births to Thomas and Elinor Morgan - son Thomas 1679 (probably died young since there is a Thomas Morgan dying in 1691 and one in 1700.) Daughter Sarah b. 1684; son Roger 1688-1703; daughter Elinor b. 1690. Believe this Elinor to be wife of (1st) Henry Freeman and (2nd) Robert Drewry. Children by both husbands.
There is a William Morgan, born July 12, 1690 to William and Alice Morgan. (Deducing that William (the father) would have been born in range of 1640 - 1670)
Also a William Morgan married to Ann with children
1. Thomas b. 1706 - d. Sept 1710
2. Charles b. 1710 - 1712
3. John b. 1714.
In Denbeigh Parish, (presume York Co. VA) there is a Simon and Elizabeth Morgan with son Samuel born April 30 1703.
Anyone know about these early Morgan families?
I believe I am from Robert and Elinor (Morgan) Drewry line, through their son William, born 1727 in York Co. VA and then through William's daughter Rachel Drewry, born 1767, Southampton Co. VA.
Perhaps another daughter of William (born 1727), Mary Drewry, married a Morgan in Southampton Co. Virginia. Probably date of marriage would be around 1775-1781. Any help would be appreciated.
My DNA autosomal matches include lots of Morgan surnames, so I'm trying to figure things out.(like all of us)
