Re: Wm Davis & Ann Morgan Merthyr-Maesteg-Martins Ferry, OH
Charlie, I was doing that from memory and I am wrong about Solomon Morgan which should have read Samuel Morgan and also which Thomas King, so I went thru my notes and this is what it said.,
WB, B 1800-1845 P-2790 Hillsbrough, NC., "Hardy lost his fortune and was Dissipated and he and his descendants became improvished. Samuel inherited all land but lost it by becoming surity for Sheriff Nat King who fled to TN after bankrupting his friends".
I guess he posted the bond as Nat King was related to his family thru Henry Morgan's wife Mary Hopkins who's mother was Mary King.
What is interesting is John Taylor of Va had Anne Hopskin as an indentured servant for 8 years and married her in Orange, NC.
Some Morgan's I am studing at this time that I feel could be our Morgan's.
