I am a descendant of William Bailey LaForce, b 1763, one of the 11 children of Agnes Moseby LaForce & Rene LaForce.Wm. married Ann (Nancy) Holeman Aug 1, 1805 in Woodford Co. KY. One of their three children was Cornelius Holeman LaForce. He married Isabella King. One of their daughters was my greatgrandmother Nancy Jane LaForce. She married Anthony Earl. One of their five children was my paternal grandmother, Cordelia Runnion.
According to family history, the LaForce's left Henrico Co. VA during the American Revolution for Martin's Station on the Licking River in KY.On June 22, 1780 they were attacked by Capt. Henry Bird and his British troops along with 800 Indians. They were marched by foot and canoe 1400 miles to Detroit and on to Canada.Wm. Bailey was thrown into British prison for two years while Agnes sewed fine shirts to be sold in England to support the rest of the children.
