Mulford/Price connection 1850's Essex Co NJ Elihu Price 69, Mahlon Mulford 35...

I was reseraching my family (like everyone else here) and I thought there may be a connection to Essex county, NJ Mulfords and Prices.I have traced my family to Ralph Price b. 1749 and Elizabeth Woodruff b. 1753 of Elizabeth, NJ.

I am eager to find the wife of their child, Elihu Price (Sr), b. Aug 27 1780.There is no mention of her anywhere.Census's then do not list the individual person's names.Elihu's son, also Elihu Price b. 1810, was married to a Phebe (surname unk) according to 1850 census records and their son's marriage cert (which I found in Trenton archives).

I am on a quest to find out a Mulford connection with this family because Elihu Sr is living with Mulfords in Elizabeth NJ on the 1850 and 1860 census's. The family is Mahlon Mulford 35 Tanner, Anna T 34, Elihu Price 69, Robert Price 20, Elizabeth Mulford 16 and Elizabeth W Black 25. He is much older and I am wondering if they are his wife/sig other's family. At the same time in the same town his son Elihu and Phebe are raising Henrietta 18, and George W. Price 15.George is my gg-grandfather.

What has also interested me is that George's son Frederick has a middle name of Mulford (Frederick Mulford Price b. 1835) according to his marriage cert (Newark NJ).He must be named after one of these Mulfords that his g-grandfather is living with.Elihu Sr died in 1862.

So in this long drawn out post I am asking, does anyone have any connections or information that may help me better understand the Price/Mulford connection?Thanks for your time.Andrea.
