I know this is very belated, and I will try emailing John at the address given below. But just in case you see this or anyone else comes along, I am looking for a Muller family in Galveston around that time who might be related.
John Herman Nicholas Muller was born 4 Feb 1822 in Bremen, Germany. He immigrated to Galveston, TX by 1850 where he married Verona WILD (from Switzerland) on June 25th of that year. He's on the 1860 census in Galveston (name spelled as "Jno Mullr") with occupation given as "merchant". Verona and John had the following children:
1) John Jacob Muller (1851 – 1925) - married a Mary (Last Name Unknown) and had five children including a Bernard, died in Nicaragua (?? according to family trees on Ancestry - no idea what he was doing there)
2) Emma M. Muller (1854 – 1945) m. Robert Louis Peter von Schmerbeck**, eight children but only four lived past childhood, died Houston, TX
4) Elizabeth Verona Muller (1858 – 1951) m. Benjamin T. COTTON, died Austin, TX
5) Mary Sophia Muller (1861 – 1938), never married, died San Antonio, TX
** my line
John Muller died Oct 30, 1862, after fighting as a Confederate Captain in the second Battle of Corinth, Mississippi, presumably of wounds sustained in that battle. However I cannot find any record of his military service or death.
Any information on these families, particularly his origin back in Germany, would be greatly appreciated. Reply by post or email, I get the notifications.
